"Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength." - Arnold Schwarzenegger
At CUL Academy we believe that physical education plays a critical role in educating the whole student. Like other academic courses of study, physical education is based upon national standards that define what students should know and be able to do as a result of participation. Physical education is unique to the school curriculum as it is the only program that provides boys and girls with opportunities to learn motor skills, develop fitness, and gain understanding about the importance of physical activity.
The ultimate goal of physical education will always be participation in health-enhancing physical activity for a lifetime.
The PE department offer a wide range of team and individual activities throughout the academic year aiming to develop a positive attitude towards participation. Opportunities are available for each and every student to develop physically, socially and emotionally both within curriculum and extra-curricular hours. They are encouraged to compete and co-operate with each other, understand and value their own performances and those of others and to respond and interact appropriately when participating in various roles. Students also gain an understanding of their ability to apply safety principles and work with others, thus ensuring a safe and stimulating learning environment.
